POW work at the NZIFF
The POW team have been working hard, getting a couple of wonderful films ready for their debut at the upcoming New Zealand International Film Festival.
Helen Kelly - Together
An intimate, inspirational portrait of Helen Kelly in the last year of her life, Together tells the story of a woman whose advocacy and generosity changed the lives of countless New Zealanders.
In 2015 Helen Kelly agreed to let documentary maker Tony Sutorius - the award winning director of Campaign - into her life to document her last year of activism.
The result is Helen Kelly: Together - a stunning affirmation of both her dedication to justice, and her friendships with those she fought alongside.
Equal parts moving and inspiring, funny and tragic, Helen Kelly: Together is as much about what it is to be a Kiwi as it is about Helen’s astounding life. It is a cultural landmark and a piece of New Zealand’s film history.
John McKay and the POW Studios Team were on the sound, alongside an incredible score by David Long, performed by David Donaldson, Riki Gooch and Steve Roche.
Screenings at the Sounding Theatre in Te Papa on the 28th and 29th July, and the Wellington City Gallery on the 6th and 9th of August.
Births, Deaths and Marriages
Director Bea Joblin’s spirited debut feature boasts snappy dialogue and spot-on performances from a cast including Geraldine Brophy, Sophie Hambleton and Jamie McCaskill. A pungent kiwi slant on classic domestic farce.
Tickets have now gone on sale for fast paced, witty, hilarious debut film by Bea Joblin.
The POW Studios team worked on the Sound Design, Editorial and Mix. We can’t wait for the premiere on the 28th July at Te Papa. Also screening at the Academy Cinemas on the 1st and 2nd of August.
