POW Wildcard Entry at Asian Animation Summit
Wellington’s POW Studios has had animation project Silvers selected for this year’s Asian Animation Summit (AAS). The show is the only NZ selection among the 27 selected for AAS this year. Australian shows make up a quarter of the line-up, with shows China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea and Thailand completing the selection. AAS is essentially a three-day pitch fest, with an audience of broadcasters, commissioners, financiers and potential production partners from around the world.
Silvers, targeting 9-13 year olds, is a co-production with US company Silvers Surf City. POW has already partnered with Korea’s XrisP on children's show Nori: Rollercoaster Boy, which screened at the family session at the recent Korea Film Festival in Auckland.
The Asian Animation Summit runs 29 November – 1 December 2017 in Brisbane.
