NZ Sound Post shines again
There are some common factors when it comes to the films that attract the top accolades. NZ cinema might be known for its beautiful cinematographic work, world-leading visual-effects, its hugely successful directors, and wealth of acting talent. NZ sound design and editorial has come a long, long way from the days of LOTR, when it erupted onto the international scene – and it was top-notch back then!
This week belongs just as much to the world-class sound teams that give voice these stories.
Katy Wood also scooped a Golden Reel for her work on UNDERGROUND RAILROAD.
THE BEATLES GET BACK sound team grabbed a Golden Reel, under the supervision of Martin Kwok and Brent Burge (Matt Stutter, Emile de la Rey, Mel Graham, Buster Flaws, Tane Upjohn-Betson, Michael Donaldson, Stephen Gallagher, Simon Riley).
The common factor in all the nominated and winning films is a well-resourced, quality soundtrack. And in the above, that unique kiwi touch. Huge congratulations to all winners and nominees, it’s you who make these films sing. Tautoko.
